As per the marking criteria for IELTS writing, complex sentences are extremely important. Therefore, you have to include as many complex sentences as possible in your Task 1 and Task 2. However, you must also make sure you do not add too many of them at the wrong places as it would make it unnatural and incoherent.
We can use complex sentences for different purposes:
